Sonoma Meditation: Duck pond in Sonoma Plaza


Join us pond-side at the Sonoma Plaza - we're at the duck pond for our Sonoma Valley moment. Looking southwest across the plaza, the pond is a popular spot to sit and relax and enjoy the family of ducks who swim, dive, and otherwise entertain visitors. (And if you look closely, you might see a Sonoma toddler participating in the ever-popular duck chase through the Plaza.)

The Sonoma Valley is right next to the Napa Valley and has long been a great wine area. WeWine Napa offers tours customized for you and the Sonoma Valley region is not only beautiful but rich in great wineries. In fact, Sonoma has one of the oldest wineries.

Because we are not doing tours at this time due to the Corona Virus, we thought we would share another bit of peaceful pleasure in this delightful meditation. Love the sound of the water too! Sonoma Meditation: Overlook Trail


Join us on the bench in the meadow that overlooks the City of Sonoma at the end of the Overlook Trail. Sit for fifteen minutes and enjoy the gentle breeze as the branches of the oak trees sway and the spring-green leaves dance.

To the right are the vernal pools (seasonal wetlands) through which cuts the Sonoma bike path from The Springs to the Sebastiani winery.

In the middle distance is the historic Sonoma Plaza, the largest plaza of it's kind (eight acres!) in California. And further out are the hills that define the Sonoma Valley's western edge, where it spreads out into the Carneros region, famous for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyards. At the edge of it are the wetlands and tidelands that feed into the San Pablo Bay, and further in the far distance, are the hills of Marin and San Francisco. Can you hear the crows? Produced by guest favorite @vengevineyards in Calistoga, Scout’s Honor is a blend of Zinfandel, Charbono, Petite Sirah & Syrah. Named in honor of their lab retriever Scout, it’s no wonder so much passion & energy went into creating it.

A very easy drinker with great flavors and can be consumed young. Plum, purple fruits, blueberries, black raspberries & raspberries on the edges, black licorice, rich, dark soils, vanilla, caramel, clove, medium spice, a touch of pepper, blue and purple flower, violets with lavender. Nice fresh mouth entry. Your palate senses deliciousness immediately. The body is round and medium. Definite fruit sweetness.
